Re: Anti depressants

Someone posted here several months ago that anitdepressants were actually helpful for candida. I was skeptical at the time because I had been on Effexor for ten years before coming down with an absolutely horrible yeast infection. Candida can actually be a cause of depression, though, and anyone with candida will most likely have a problem with depression. I've read that it has to do with all of the toxins that candida gives out. So, one good thing is that when you start working to rid your body of the candida, you might not need to be on antidepressants at all anymore. That's what happened to me. After being on Effexor for 10 years, I was able to go off of it after the antifungals began bringing the candida under control. I've been off of Effexor for almost a year now. The candida was absolutely the cause of my depression.
