Doom-mongers go mainstream!!
I almost choked on my Singapore chow mein takeout tonight while watching Channel 4 news. The report was about Israel, marking the imminent 70th anniversary of its creation as a state in its own right.
And who should appear on this report but Pastor Paul Begley, a doom-monger who informs us that Trump is fulfilling prophecy, and Armageddon is just around the corner!! His happy disposition appeared to beckon: 'bring it on'. Yep, there appears to be no end to this insanity inspired by these anniversary celebrations. Pastor Begley thinks he can make ludicrous pronouncements like this because he has a sure-fire interpretation of Bible prophecy on his side. Problem is, that same hermeneutic has already led to countless failed predictions of rapture, antichrist, armageddon, judgment day - you name it.
Trump the fulfilment of prophecy? Seriously? Prepare yourselves for another epic fail guys. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, until I'm blue in the face if necessary: the hermeneutic that leads these doom-mongers to make their end time predictions is fundamentally flawed. This has been demonstrated both by their countless failures, which come around with parrot-like regularity, and by serious scholars and theologians who have written the standard works on the subject of Biblical Eschatology and the interpretation of prophecy. And you will not find a single doom-monger among them.
Basically, this is yet another example of sensationalist drivel served up for consumption by the ignorant masses. As I have said elsewhere, the doom-mongers have mistaken the Bible for The Puzzle Enthusiasts Annual. When you start off on the wrong foot, don't be too surprised when you end up in La La Land.
Yeah, I do as it happens. It seems too well stage-managed to be completely spontaneous. No doubt some rehearsal was involved, even if only on a modest level.
Definitely not, and running away is not the answer either. Ya have to fight........for ya right........to paaarrttyy .......in your own country. Obama was not your enemy. He meant well, but he was powerless against the Deep State. It's the vested interests that control him that are the real enemy. Emptying your country of half its population and pouring it into other countries solves nothing. Eventually, the elites will subvert the democratic process there too. CETA is already an example of that, and the game was almost over until TTP and TTIP were sunk by protests around the world, nevermind Trump's lack of enthusiasm for these trade deals. Trump is currently your best chance to disempower them in their power base, but the forces at their disposal are now being orchestrated against him. He and his supporters have some tough times ahead.
Speaking of water, tonight I had the misfortune to see this advert on tv for the first time:
It's absolutely sickening, the hypocrisy on a scale I never thought possible. One of the principle culprits in 'water terrorism' around the world is now posing as a champion of safe drinking water in third world countries. It was more than I could stomach, & I'm afraid I just couldn't restrain myself - the missus musta heard me shouting expletives at the tv from the other room. Matt Damon should be thoroughly ashamed of himself for fronting such an ad, but I guess he'll even sell his soul as long as the price is right. I won't be buying Stella anything - ever again.
Challenge the message and not the messenger!
The first person to resort to name calling and personal attacks automatically loses the debate!
Personal attack is often the best indication that the writer knows his logic is flawed and therefore tries to deflect attention by attacking the opponent, instead of attacking the arguments of the opponent.
