I am not sure if the OBGYN's get kickbacks for the Mirena but I do know that all the shots we are required to give all our kiddo's at the doctors office puts lots of money in their pockets. I was told shots are the bread and butter of the pediatric practice. I posted before about my son having a shot reaction and the doctor trying to push more shots on him. Well I sure found out why. She has backed off now, probably because I complained in detail and she is probably worried about a lawsuit. Anyway, it is interesting you bring that up. It would make sense why the docs are so quick to recommend this. I payed $600 to have it put in because my insurance wouldn't cover it. The doc got $200 of that just to put it in. Worst $600 I ever spent. Don't be discouraged friend, there is power in knowledge and thats what this site is for. Because you know what you do about what this Mirena can do, think of how many women who are suffering that you have helped just by sharing your experience. The makers of this product are going to get sued just like ortho evra makers did. Ortho evra was causing a higher then first indicated rate of blood clots in women and there were some that died from that birth control. It had to start with suffering first unfortunately to bring the truth to light. Thats what our job is now that we know, to help others who don't know. It is so unfair that any of us ever had to suffer and the company will have accountability in time. You are doing a great job I might add with awareness. The complaints and the lawsuits will happen. In the meantime, while we are all helping to get this product removed, lets keep helping the women who are coming here desperate for help. Thoughts are with you!
