You've been down a rough road. The sciatica can be fixed in about a week with the proper chiropractic. Cox intersegmental traction and wedge listing adjusting via a Thompson table. The old lumbar roll has a tendacy to make disc problems worse. There are a few that can make it work though.
Whether you have a gallbladder or not doesn't matter. The important thing is to decongest the liver. Thus, the liver flushes. Olive oil or lecithin are good for the liver. I prefer olive oil but have recently changed to flaxseed oil. Going to try that for a while. Lecithin is great for the brain and nervous tissue as well as the liver.
Pain killers: I'm not totally against pain killers or the proper use of drugs. There are times where it's "Thank God for the powerful drugs". I've had patients over the years where I've had to tell them to get the painkillers from their doctor and be on them for a week before I could even touch their lower back. And, by the way, Scitica,(slipped disc) is one of the worst pains you can have. It makes a very humble person out of you. It's NOT the kind of pain you can fake.
Here's an regime you can do to speed the process. Lay on you bed FACE DOWN. Put a pillow between your chin and your chest. You head must remain straight. Hook you toes over the end of the bed and pull up gently with your toes. You'll feel it pull in your lower back. Don't overdo this. Let that pull for about 10 seconds and then release. Release for 10 seconds then pull again with you toes for 10 seconds. Do this four times then get up. Do this once an hour while awake.
Once recovered from the slipped disc start doing the hamstring stretches. DO NOT STRETCH YOUR BACK - EVER. Stretch the backs of your legs every night before bed. Get it so there's no discomfort when you stretch. It'll take some time but it's very important.
Get your foot up on a chair, put your hands on top of your thigh. Gently push down stretching the back of your leg. Do not bend over so far your stretching your back. If you feel it behind your knee your stretching too far. If you feel it up to the buttocks you're stretching too far. Just the backs of your legs.
You slip a disc because the lumbar spine lost its normal forward curve. The best way to reestablish that curve is to keep the hamstrings loose. When too tight they pull the lower back out of its nmormal forward curve. Thus creating the environment for a classic slipped disc. Of which you know are very painful. Once out of pain start doing the hamstring stretch every night, you'll be surprised how strong your lower back can get. Pain free too.
The pain in the liver is another thing. For sure constipation can cause that level of pain but the surgery is behind you now, it's time to clean the liver up and get rid of the pain once and for all. I've posted my "basics" program elsewhere on this forum, start with that. Colon, liver and antiparasite program.
Questions??? You'll have some. Keep me posted. Doc Sutter
