Hi, all!
Just thought I would share some of the possibilities that I have developed or am considering to get and mantain access to top quality food.
First, am offering free refractometer testing and bringing questions from the very best of the organic small farms in my area to this forum. Not only do they get the concept of feeding the soil so that it will feed us, but hteir plots are far from any use of pesticide, herbicide, etc. so relatively unpolluted. I occasionally go out there [abt 15 mile from home] to test, help pick, and do some educating regarding the principles at this forum and the askmoreless website. Also do some free help with harvesting on occasion. Payoff has been top quality fruit and veg, some free when it is not cosmetically suitable for sale. This relationship took about 3-5 moths to develop, but was aided by the fact I had previously known one of the farm's operators for about one year when we both were involved with a local community garden.
Second, I am looking for friends and neighbors to co-garden with, as I have too shady a yard to do much at home. I am in the process of developing relationships with several owners of fruit trees, goal of mulching and ammending soil in return for portion of produce. Also, a very good friend has a very sunny front yard that may work well. She currently has some squash growing that are only doing so-so. Am going to try to aid them, and discuss soil ammndment and possible fall planting there. Another friend has started a garden and given me some produce. I will be testing it, and finding out how she grew it, then sharing some excellent grade produce with her for fher to actuallly experience the diff. Hopefully, she will themn be interested in learning how best to feed her soil and plants!
The point of all this is: one does not have to have the space or strength to grow one's own produce to get top quality. If one has educated oneself to the point that one knows one needs it, prays to our Creator, the most high God, for guidance to aquire it, ways will open up if one pays attention.
Keep seeking abundant life and joy!
