so sorry you are suffering so much. I certainly hope you can get it out very soon. I would also go to ER - when they did the ultra sound scan, could they see your IUD in place at that time? or didnt they mention it? It is important for you to know if it is there where it should be, or if it has moved, as it may be perforating your uterus - in which case it needs to come out yesterday!! Other people have had severe pain with ovarian cysts, which are caused by the mirena. Not wishing to frighten you - it may NOT be either of those things - it's just that whilst many side effects of mirena go shortly after it is removed, if you do have an internal injury, then of course it needs to be dealt with immediately and it is better to get that checked right now. i really hope that you will be alright, do let us know when you get a chance, how you are doing. Yes, doctors and specialists do have a habit of making us seem like stupid hysterical women - most of us have had that reaction from at least one person in the medical profession. However, we are neither stupid nor hysterical, we just want someone to listen to us and take us seriously. If you go to the following website, there is a list of side effects etc - print this out and take a copy with you to the ER or doctor or whoever, and highlight all your symptoms - the weight gain, migraines, leg pains etc etc will go when mirena is out of your system - but the constant pain that you have been having for the last 5 days does sound serious, please insist on them having a look up there and getting it out now, if you possibly can, even if it does mean you are labelled as crazy!!!
Anyway, the website to get the impartial info is this....

Good luck, my thoughts and prayers are with you. xxx
