i read up on sitz bath and im pretty much part of the mass confusion, altho i think i got the jist of it. i dont have a bathtub that i can soak in for an hour, i read that a sauna might be a good substitute. so i decided to try with a long hot shower, if i can get half the benefits it would be worth it.
so i planed on taking a 30 min shower every night this week, followed with a 10 minutes of the cold water running down the belly button. i had a little heater running in the bathroom also to get it warm in there.
i showered with water as warm as i could stand for almost 25 minutes. at which point i was starting to not feel so well, a bit dizzy and such, so i got out. it was also getting kinda hard to breath with all the steam. then i used the coldest water out of the faucet, which really didnt seem that cold! i sat on the toilet and with a wash cloth had the water go down my belly button for 10 mins.
i have a few questions...
#1 am i wasting my time with this, or is it close enough to get some benefit?
#2 do i finish the hot shower with a cold water?
#3 should i be hot/cold/comfortable while i do the 10 min of cold water?
it might be wishful thinking, it might be luck, or it might be the sitz shower, but my hemroids are definatly better today then they were in the last 3 days.
