Thorvin is a finer grind than the frontier... this is a good thing in that a smaller amount of kelp may go further.

Thorvin is much less $$$, especially when buying in larger quantities. Combine this with the finer grind, it may turn out to be a better value if I realize the same or better results.

Thorvin has both a stronger taste and smell than Frontier.

The alkalizing drink, made with the same amount a Thorvin is harder for me to drink. It does not taste as good. To that end, I have reduced the amount of kelp in the drink. I seem to be getting at least equal results... too early to tell for sure though.
