I have an excellent book by Paul Pritchford called Healing with Whole Foods. He has so much information in it about the liver that the index page alone for liver takes up 3/4 of the page. In it he talks about common syndromes, foods beneficial for the different syndromes, foods for healing, renewal, strengthening, how different vitamins affect, detoxifying, emotional issues and, plus lots more. It is such a good book if you want to get your body healthy, and keep it that way.
He lists symptoms so that you can try to figure out the nature of your liver problem, and then tells you what to do about it.
There are 8 categories of liver syndromes, so it's difficult to say which area you would be the most helpful to you. I will mention the category called foods which accelerate liver rejuvenation: the chlorophyll-rich foods, incuding cereal grasses and also the micro-algae - spirulina, wild blue-green, and chlorella. These foods are very useful in most cases of liver excess, stagnancy, heat, and wind (Chinese terminology). Other green foods are also beneficial:parsley, kale, watercress, and collard greens. One way to accomplish this would be to get a good juicer and make a green juice or 2 every day.
If you want a few more specifics, let me know.
