one cc = 15 drops, 30 cc = one ounce, so 15 X 30 = 450 drops.

It does seem that there could be some variation based on dropper size.

Although I'm still pretty confused.

So I decided to try and work it out myself.

I have some measuring spoons, I filled the 1/2 teaspoon measure and i got around 25 (horizontal) drops Lugols till it was full.

1/2 teaspoon = 2.5ml. 1oz = 30ml approx

1 x 1oz bottle = 300 drops approx.

so it seems the answer could be anything from 300 to 780 drops.

also after some googling it seems 1 drop = 0.05ml, or 20 drops = 1ml, so that would also work out at 600 per bottle.

i think i need to repeat my own experiement with vertical drops instead to see if there is much difference and i can get closer to 600/700


EDIT: The difference is because of vertical and horizontal drops. horizontal drops are twice as big as vertical ones. See also my post here

So in a 1oz (approx 30ml) bottle Lugols there are approx 300 horizontal drops and 600-660 vertical drops. It seems when they say 1 drop = 0.05ml, or 20 drops=1ml they are talking about vertical drops. I'm glad i did this experiment because i worked out i need to order more Lugols before the restrictions!
