One good rule of thumb when having crowns done in Mexico is to choose a dentist who uses American dental labs for crowns as opposed to Mexican dental labs.
I have personal experience with this. I had to have two bridges re done and had to make 3 return visits after my bridge work would not stay on.
You can get good crown work done in Mexico, but it is usually a good idea to choose a dentist who can take adequate time to make sure the fit is right and crowns and bridges are secure.
It is generally not a good idea to choose a dentist in Mexico who might be overbooked.
Also ....this is important.... choose a dentist who will not be afraid to have his work checked by another dentist. If they are too proud to have their work checked, go elsewhere! This is the biggest mistake I made in Mexico!!
I have been told that Dr. Lagos and Dr. Alfonso Gracia use American labs. Gracia's prices are better and his office is walking distance from the border. He has a pretty good awareness of holistic techniques, though he does do root canals. I had him re do some fillings that came apart after I went to a "busier" dentist in Tijuana, whose initial work failed. The excuse they gave me was that the lab gave them bad materials.
I will look to see is I still have Gracia's info and post it later. A very good dentist!
