Many times I will put
Iodine in our food when I'm making it, just to counteract all the bad stuff we take in. My kids are older (10, 12 and 15) but I've noticed no ill effects from any of them from it. They don't (won't!) do the salt loading either, and often don't take any supps.

Iodine and kids - I thought I saw on here somewhere what is reasonable/healthy for younger kids to take (something really mild like 1/2 drop 3x a week - but don't quote me on that, I really don't remember what it is!).
