MoreHey Everyone,
I have had my IUD since Feb 2006. I recently remarried and we want to start trying to have a baby. I already have a 4 year old from my first marriage and it was no problem conceiving her. I was just wondering if anyone has had any real problems getting pregnant after the removal of their IUD. My husband thinks it may take a couple of months to get pregnant but I think that it won't take a month because I have had a pretty regular period since I have had this IUD inserted. I'm going to make an appointment tomorrow to have it removed and I think I can be pregnant by June but I want to be prepared if I am not. Any advice would be awesome and thank you in advance!

MoreThis is a reply to # 872,461i had no problem getting pregnant after mirena came out. i got pregnant about four weeks later. the problem was staying pregnant. please give your body a little time to rid itself of the hormones left after the mirena comes out before trying to have a baby. your fertility should return like it was before ever having it inserted, but dr's wont tell you that the hormones will stay in your body for a period of time after removal. i know that these hormones were responsible for the loss of our baby. im only asking that you wait a couple months before trying. i dont want the same thing to happen to you that happened to me.

This is a reply to # 872,784Thank you very much. I have been researching it heavily for the past couple of days and I have read that miscarrying is quite common when you get pregnant right away. I really don't want that to happen because my daughter wants a sibling so bad. Thank you so much for sharing with me.

This is a reply to # 872,795No, nothing medical yet but I have heard some things from different ladies on here. I have emailed my midwife and I'm waiting on her to get back with me. I'm really freaked out about some stuff that I had no idea that might have something to do with me having this IUD. I have been experiencing all kinds of things that women on this forum have been experiancing and I really did not put it together with having this thing. My husband and I planned to take it out in July but after reading everything I'm getting it taken out on May 30. I'm going to do some more research on the miscarriage thing and I will post it on here if I find anything.

This is a reply to # 872,824i was just wondering bc i havent been able to find anything medically that says anything about it. of course, before i got mine i couldnt find anything on it anyway. all i ever heard was good stuff about it, then i started having a weird feeling about it and found this site. was i glad, i didnt feel like iwas the only one anymore. hopefully things wont go bad for you when you do get pregnant, and best of luck on that as well.
