Hello
People keep asking me: "Have you seen 'The Secret'?" As it happens, I have, a couple of times, and I was quite impressed...mainly by the slick packaging of what is a very old idea.
It would be quite easy to be cynical about the marketing aspects, but in fact the main of the film has a lot of validity, I think. However, I firmly believe that there's more to it than the film portrays.
Just as the famous Napoleon Hill book should really be called "Think, Take Action and Grow Rich", the "Law of Attraction" actually requires people to firstly focus on what they desire - and then take sustained action to achieve it.
This requires mental focus, determination and, there's no getting away from it, work.
I was interested to read a recent interview with Bob Proctor, one of the teachers in the film, who I must say seems very sharp for someone in his mid-seventies. He explains that there *is* more to it than the film portrays, and in fact he defines a number of other universal laws which determine how our lives unfurl.
He has been greatly influenced by a book I have not yet read, "The
Science of Getting Rich", and has taken these concepts and developed them further. These now include the concept of multiple streams of income and passive income, both of which I aspire to develop.
My interest having been piqued by the interview, I plan to read and listen to more of Bob Proctor's work.
I recommend that others also have a read of the interview, which can be found at
