I am a 24 yr old femail with very fair freckled skin and dark hair.
For as long as I can remember I have had a small red patch on the side of my cheek next to my ear, if you look closely at this you can see that it is thread veins surrounded by redness. This has never bothered me as is is so small. Recently however I have two more red patches on the same cheek ( can't see veins in these) and I traingle formation of red accross that cheek. This redness doesn't go down at all, the other cheek is clear. Could this be rosacea?- Re: it is rosacea? Sally

rosacea can be difficult to diagnose, or at least be mis-diagnosed since it can take different forms. Some people just have the flushing component, others have visable veins or perm redness. To me yrs doesn't sound like a classic case of rosacea at all, i would recommend asking yr GP for a referral to a derm at yr local hospital to get a diagnosis. then yr'll know at least what you've got and can set about trying to get help 4 it.

Just blemished skin. It didn't have that reddish look like old Bill Clinton..Thank God. But maybe he drinks his breakfast.
I don't know how the doctor came up with that one...as it didn't look like it to me. But then I'm not a doctor. But
I was right...she said if it was rosacea, the medicine would clear it up specially made for it. It didn't and she said.

This is a reply to # 8,654That's a pain. I have been to my doctor and pointed out the red patches. She said that the rash around my mouth is something called peri-oral dermatitis. I have some cream called rozex for that. It has gone away but there are still scars there. As for the other redness, she agreed that it is veins but said it is not rosacea. I thought thread veins and flushing was rosacea? She said I was too younf for it though (24)She has refered me to a consultant dermatologist for laser treatment. Has anyone had laser treatment? Is there anything I should know?
