The iridology thing is really interesting. I suspect it could tell me alot about my left eye which has weird brown coloring and dark brown/black spots!
I think the improvements show that you did in fact need iodine, but bypassing the body's natural mechanisms for getting it where it needs to go by brute force in sheer quantity is really not the right approach. Everything I've seen and experienced tells me that
Iodine supplementation significantly depletes your sulphur supply. So you trade one problem for another.
If your body needs iodine, you have a thyroid problem. The thyroid uses so many minerals, iodine, iron, sulphur, selenium, copper, manganese, and zinc at a mininum (and probably others) that it is difficult to know which might help. So a broad mineral supplement would probably be the way to go.
I am learning though that there is another critical component, and that is -- where you live. Since your husband is an FDA man, do you by any chance, live in the selenium-depleted state of Maryland?
