Are you kidding? I work in a ceramic studio, surrounded by heavy metals and toxic compounds used in glaze recipes. I started OPing back at the first of the New Year because I felt that I really needed a form of detoxification that I could handle and people thought I was nuts. They still think I'm nuts. But, one of my colleagues began OPing and she will never go another day without doing so. It's my hope that others begin this simple protocol, as well, but their health is not my responsibility.
No matter what you do in your lifetime, your health must be your own responsibility. Unfortunately, your mother (along with my generation) was raised in the "Doctors Are Gods" era - doctors were never believed to be mistaken. In addition, it was the Age Of Pharmaceuticals - everyone was taking
Antibiotics , steroids, and a host of other chemicals for runny noses and itching skin. Forgive your mother for her dependence upon Contemporary Medicine and go about taking control of your own health! GOOD FOR YOU for looking into so many things that will help keep you clean and healthy! Who knows? She might become intrigued as she watches you evolve into a healthy, self-assured individual and want to explore self-healing, on her own!
If other people choose to sneer at your efforts, pity them for their ignorance. I have an in-law who thinks that anything that isn't prescribed by a physician is "voodoo." I swear, he said that to my face when I told him of my efforts to take control of my own health. So, unless someone asks me why my skin is looking better or my teeth are whiter, I mind my own business, and do my thing! I'm going one step at a time - baby steps - and trying to make life-long changes in my habits and personal protocols. At your young age, you will benefit tremendously from your efforts!
Best of luck to you, and HAPPY SWISHING!
