MoreHi ,just found this forum,and very pleased too.
I am 42 and was put on the mirena 7 years ago after suffering from extreme pms afterI finished breast feeding my baby.
I have had two coils in this time. I have been pleased with the lack of periods ,however ? does anyone else have all these symtoms? I keep asking If I am in the change of life and being dismissed.
little to no bleeds , for a number of years.since Jan for no reason several bleeds,unsure why as have had non except the lightest spotting in the 7 years !
weight gain
hot flushes
heart palpitations
breathlessness
acne
feeling depressed
loss of energy
diorganised
bouts of itchy skin
does anyone else at all ? have any of these besides the weight gain prob and skin prob,
As I am being bullied to take it out,unsure which is the coil and which are symtoms of something else,had bloods taken and nothing came to light.
can anyone help ? please?

MoreThis is a reply to # 844,360I too have just found this site and am sitting going through it in tears. I have all the above symptoms you mentioned. Im actually coming out of an anxiety attack right now. Well a meltdown as I call it. It feels like your falling apart. I hate how i makes me feel & how I make hubby feel :(
I have the Mirena in for Endometriosis - A last resort as all other treatments resulted in too much daily pain still. If you have any tips for controlling emotions etc.... please let me know. Im 26 & married.

This is a reply to # 844,360I have had all of those symptoms and a few more. Such as lack of interest in sex, exhaustion, horrible discharge, I have not bleed since the day I had it put in 15 months ago. I want to have mine removed.

I've had my mirena out 2 weeks - I noticed your symptoms were the same as mine. I really hated the discharge. It lasted for 8 months, along with terrible cystic acne, leg pains, no sex drive, and an annoying eye twitch. Am starting to feel back to normal. This is a reply to # 844,360I would say the symptoms are definately connected to the coil since having mine fitted in 2005 i have had most of your symptoms also abdominal pain sometimes on the left and sometimes on the right i have grown facial hair had numbness in my feet and legs and have found myself getting very emotional.
The doctors have been telling me to perservere and that the symptoms will settle eventually but 2 years later they have not settled down only seem to be getting worse.
Anyway i am having IT removed May 2nd hopefully i can then settle back to my usually happy self!
