I am sorry, I don't know of this Fat Flush so I can't say anything on that. The doctor seems to know what she's doing though, I read an interview and she seems ok.
Up and down fasts can be good or bad, if after 3 days of fast you eat fat and heavy this is some stress for the body. But many have a 1 day of
Water Fast a week and it does good to them. Many also skip meals no problem, like in the Warrior Diet where you only have dinner. Also MH suggests to only eat for dinner, when activities of the day are gone and you can relax while eating and digesting. It is quite logic, but not for this is right for everyone. If you want to fast but can't, it could be for many reasons, but bottom line you just have to acknowledge this is not the way for you now, seemingly. Maybe another time.
What "been there done that" told you reminded me of a very simple taoistic technique to loose weight, that is chewing a lot. Like this you'll have both the liquid veggies he was suggesting to you and the enzymes of the saliva. Simple is not necessarily easy, you need to be quite mindful to remember to chew every bite at least 30 times, take bites that are not too big, and sip what you drink instead of gulping it. Every third bite, put down the fork, sip something warm, then begin again. Never drink down the food that is in your mouth. Don't try to eat less, eat healthy and chew it at least 30 times, or more, until the food is liquid in the mouth. Eat as much as you want whenever you want. The chewing slows down a lot your speed when you eat, so you will eventually see that you end up eating less, but that is not necessary. There's a guy called Miller who has written a small e-book on this, he lost 60
pounds in 50 days, which is exceptional, I visited his forum and pepople were more likely loosing 4
pounds a month. He had these results even without eating healthy, but along the way he became healthier and helthier in his choices, because by giving the body the time to consider what is good and what is crap you end up choosing better. A friend of mine met once a man who had lost a lot of weight in this way, but I don't know how fast. You have to be very disciplined in following the rule of chewing well, it is very very easy to get distracted and speed it up without knowing. But if you are able to establish that good habit you'll be thin and healthy very naturally, even eating some no-nos every once in a while. By chewing well and tasting fully what you eat the body will be able to absorb all the nutrients it needs and your cravings will disappear. I am convinced this is maybe not the only but one of the few permanent ways to weight loss. It doesn't require but mindfulness, very low cost!
So maybe consider giving it a try one day, and see if you've lost some weight, I wouldn't be surprised if you lost 2
pounds in one day (well, it also depends on how much overweight you are, so let's say at least 1 pound). You'll be also full of energy. This is at least what happened to me.
There was a blog of a girl trying to chew 100 times a bite (only when she ate alone), she said she had incredible benefits from it, I don't know if the blog is still there after the crush. (edit: I checked, unfortunately the blog is gone)
