"Some things I have been thinking about lately are
that I do not get food or other cravings when/after I eat peppers. Or as much
now that I am an OPer. Currently my cravings tend to be for sugars (carbs) (I
never just "crave" a carrot) or cigarettes. But it was also true to a
degree when I craved other stuff like alcohol. I wonder if the endorphin effect
of the cayenne sates the craving for whatever. The next time I have a craving
for choco or ice cream in a big way, I am going to try cayenne.
I also find these cravings diminishing a lot with OP. Maybe this is just related
to the overall feeling of well-being that Oil Pulling has brought into my life,
but on a more general level, I know it's true. When I have stopped pulling for a
few days or so, I get cravings again."
I haven't had a cigarette in 38 years and while on a long walk a few days ago I
got a craving to have one! Haven't had that crave for years.
One thing that I've found that helps food craving is - niacin. Not the slow release, but the full blown variety. I always (almost) take it with some food, but I still get the rush/rash to some extent. When I haven't had one in a while I will break it in half. It kills my appetite for several hours.
While I've found that cayenne - 180,00 HU, kills my appetite for a little while, niacin does a much better job.
