Hey Beginnings! How are you? Hope you are enjoying your time away from studies.
It looks like from your readings that you are doing well with your workouts and diet. As far as good quality carbs, I would suggest eating some complex carbohydrates such as beans(legumes), whole grain breads, and starchy vegetables like sweet potatoes or white potatoes. Very healthy and good nutrition. Please avoid or cut-down immensely on simple carbs like candies, sodas, syrups and the like. Those will spike up your insulin level and not a good thing. Oh yeah - and avoid all dairy products too. I would also suggest that you use coconut oil for your cooking and also as a spread on your breads. On occasion, I will heat up some chocolate almond milk and put a teaspoon of extra virgin coconut oil in it. YEEE-UMMM!... really good as its a healthy and a satisfying snack.
A good dinner for me would be grilled salmon or chicken (organic on both!) with a side of cooked spinach or raw spinach salad, and a baked potato. Now doesnt that make your mouth water? (chuckling!) Salmon or chicken has a lot of protein to maintain your muscle mass along with the potato to keep your carbohydrate supply for extra energy. The spinach is great for B vitamins. Getting back to oils, I bought a bottle of Udo Eramus 3-6-9 Oil. Its in the refrigerated section of the grocery store. I like to take a teaspoon of that during the day to get all my Omega's for optimum nutrition as it assists with many body functions. For dessert, I will peel and slice up some oranges, drizzle olive oil over it with a little bit of Agave Nectar and you have a great and healthy dessert. You will get some carbs from eating that too. Another good dinner I will make is organic rice pasta and a salad with cherry tomatoes. For the salad dressing, I will mix organic olive oil with either grapefruit juice or apple cider vinegar and some celtic
Sea Salt . By making the dressing, I feel I am providing a "liver maintenance" since those are the ingredients for the liver flush.
Doing a cleanse or two before returning to uni will do your body good. I'm also preparing to return for my Master's Degree so I will be doing my 7th
Liver Flush in the next week. Remember - if you want to stay lean, continue on your current diet and avoid dairy and simple carbs such as sugars, candies, etc. Make sure that you also add some fruit in your diet. Apples and oranges are always a good choice as they provide many vitamins and also satisfy your sweet tooth. Hope that helps!
