oh my gosh! pepe turned me onto kefir. It was the first time I've ever had it and it is so good, I love that stuff. My favorite is the peach kefir. I like it way more than yogurt. My only problem is that I have to limit how much of it I drink a day. I've been drinking almost a quart a day, it just tastes so good and my body seems to be asking for it.
well, everything is going well. Happy New Years everybody.
Nick, I love kefir, too. My favorite morning shake is homemade kefir, frozen blueberries, raw honey (I know, I know), a tbs. coconut oil, and a raw egg yolk. Cheers! (Of course, it'll be awhile before I have one.....)
ggg...glad to hear you like kefir. I use
it as ice cream replacement and love it
too. I tried some on my nephew though and
he spewed it across the room saying he
thought it was the worst stuff he'd ever
tasted. Boy did we laugh ourselves silly.
It is yum-may~~! and will do a fabulous
job of repopulating your good gut flora~!
If you're near a Cosi salad/sandwich chain they sell kefir with a blueberry sauce. When I go I usually ask them to put in some frozen strawberries instead. It's a great way to be able to go out with co-workers/friends and not look out of place.
Glad you're digging Kefir. Mighty tasty stuff but you know what they say about overdoing anything....................
I limit myself to twice a day and then I mix it with apple juice and my Greens+ powder and Hemp oil making it one suppa duppa drink and it tastes delish. Doing it like that I'm prolly consuming 6 to 8 oz of Kefir daily which I would say is prolly a reasonable and effective amount of Kefir to work it's mojo.
On my morning one I have been adding 1 Tblsp of ground up Cacao nibs and that adds a really nice crunchy chocolaty texture which is also super nutritious and chuck full of antioxidants and all kindsa other good stuff.
Do a little research on Cacao. You'll find lots of info on the more recent findings about its super nutritious qualities. BTW Cacao is the raw nut that chocolate is made from cept after it's cooked and processed and they add all the sugar, dairy and preservatives it looses most of it's super nutritious and beneficial qualities.
Try mixing you Kefir with fruit juices and see how that works for you.
