Eating snacks two or three hours apart is optimal digestion according to what I learned in Yale University Medical Center. They also suggest three small meals with snacks in between, example: very small breakfast, snack, very small lunch, snack, very small early dinner, snack.
Ever notice how sluggish you feel after a large meal? You have just taxed your liver heavily while your liver is also trying to produce its other functions, your liver is not just sitting there to produce digestive juices only, it has many jobs besides cleaning blood and manufactiring digestive juices...Be kind to your liver :)
If you try it, I am willing to bet you will feel more energetic during the day.
Small meals does not tax the liver to suddenly produce a large amount of digestive bile all at once to break down a large meal. It is easier for the liver to produce small amounts at a time instead of working to produce a large amount on demand. But many working people do not have the time to eat like that during the day.
