I needed surgery almost 4 years ago, after flushing my ultrasound 10 months later said, inflammation gone, wall back to normal from 42mm to 3mm. The stone which was in the neck before and created a blockage, was now free floating so the bile could flow again and all my symptoms went away.
Since most problems start in the liver you might still have to do a flush after surgery, a lot of people still don't feel well and get other problems.
