Well, to wash my hair I use Avalon Natural Products. I am trying out different brands, so Avalon is what I am using now. I have the Rosemary and the Lemon shampoo and conditioners.
I haven't ever really used deodorant in my life, I usually don't need it. (I went through a short phase where I used deodorant, learned my lesson). I did by an Avalon Natural Products deodorant, Rosemary. But I've only used it twice. If you use regular deodorant, you should definitely switch. They are super-toxic! You can use a crystal rock deodorant, too.
Um, I've also used Miracle II cleaning gel, used it for my face and body, it's GREAT! Right now I'm using some goat milk natural soap for my face, that's working pretty well.
I went a few years without using toothpaste, just baking soda and peroxide and
Sea Salt . Also, using xylitol a lot (spitting it out after a few minutes).
Now I am trying out a Weleda toothpaste, I really like it. I have also used Burt's Bees orange toothpaste for children, that's a good one. No fluorides or SLS's for me!
I use whatever dental floss the dentist gives me, I've never run out. I do floss everyday, I think that's very important.
I mixed a little coconut oil and a few drops of oregano oil into extra virgin olive oil. That's what I use instead of lotion, but I don't use it very often. I even use that on my face!
I use Seventh Generation for my laundry, and no dryer sheets (we never used them anyway). Also use Seventh Generation for doing the dishes, and I have a shower spray that's pretty much hydrogen peroxide and citrus oil.
I don't usually wear makeup. I got some sort of mascara made with minerals at Whole Foods, I wear that sometimes. On the occasions that I really wear makeup, I just use regular makeup (I love MAC) but that's not too often.
If I were going to recommend ONE product to you, it would be the green Miracle II cleaning gel. It's concentrated, so it will last a long time, and you can use it for pretty much EVERYTHING. You can wash your hair, body, brush your teeth with it (oh yeah, I've done that for a while, too), wash your clothing, your dishes, your bathroom, it works great! Quite a few people at curezone use that, if you look through old posts you can find quite a number of threads about that.
Oh - and one more thing: Just because a product is sold in a health food store doesn't mean it's automatically a good product. Plenty of them still use harmful ingredients. It's a good idea to read the ingredients and learn what they are. Of course, you're usually safe if it's all food ingredients and clay, it's those things where you're like ???, those are the ones to learn about (and usually avoid).
