I like to snack on lemons. I cut them in half and slowly let the juice run down my tongue into my mouth. I usually eat two or three halves a day. I've read it confuses your taste buds by giving them something sour, they think it's a sweet. I just know it hits the spot when I just want a little sweet nibble after dinner, and it's full of vitamin C and minerals which I need.
My other favorite snack food is a mixture of flax oil, ground flaxseeds, maca, and molasses. I add some pumpkin pie spice and it tastes like a chocolatey, gingerbready kind of candy. I mix up about a pint at a time and keep it in the fridge. I eat a spoonful twice a day. I also like the coconut oil fudge I make with coconut oil, raw honey, and cocoa.
I also keep a variety of raw nuts in the fridge and sometimes I'll eat a handful of nuts for a snack.
Some things I totally gave up, like coffee, tea, and margaritas, but when I just have to have a treat I'll bake something using sprouted spelt flour and sweetened with xylitol, sorghum, and/or molasses. I try not to eat any white Sugar
or flour but if I'm presented with a particularly delectable confection then I eat it slowly and gratefully and really savor it.
If you're having a really bad time with cravings you might be low in chromium. When I get cravings for sweets I'll take 200mgs of chromium daily for a week or so. It really helps with my blood sugar.
