Well, it did happen in an entire country. Why don't you think that could be possible in the US?
Just think, if Bush decided to make a police state, due to an act of war, then anything could happen. It doesn't have to be Bush, it could be our next crazy president. Let's say that the next president became a religious zealot. Under marshall law, that president could do anything they pleased. Sure, the people would revolt. But, look what happened under Hitler. Many of the German people were very unhappy with the regime, but felt powerless to stop it. They were also afraid of retribution.
So, that could happen here to. And there are plenty of men that think, deep down, that women should not have any freedom. It's the premise ..."how dare that B*%ch". And the most horrendous thing of all, are all the women that are willing to support this agenda also. How dare those feminists try to have equality. They need to be put in their place.
We are one hop, skip and jump into this kind of mentality. Don't kid yourself, it makes many intelligent women very nervous indeed. Talk about a slippery slope? My dear, South Dakota is just the tip of the iceberg.
On a side note, the reason I do not subscribe to any religious group is that I have yet to see a religion that does not put women in 2nd place. I'm sure your church wouldn't say they do that, I'm sure the Promise Keepers are deluding themselves about that, but if you read the world's religions, very rarely are women held in high esteem (unless they are virgins). This is what makes the moral minorty so damn scary. They seem to just hate women.
Superhero, for many, it's not the cry's of the unborn, it's the sheer hatred of women's audacity.
