Hi.. I'm kinda new at this so don't take my words as religion. (hehe) Anyhow.. I'm on day 5 of fasting. This is my first time ever fasting for health reasons though I have done it for spiritual in the past. I'm doing organic juices (when I can find them) but have yet to buy a juicer. I hear that juicing
with a juicer is better than the store bought but I didn't know that when I started and already spent a lot of money on what I have.. so I'm just going to go ahead and use it for now.
I have Organic Carrot Juice, Mix Veg Juice, Blueberry Juice, Cherry Juice, Apple Juice, and Orange Juice. Because I hear it is better for you, I don't mix veg juices with fruit... I either drink one or the other in a days time. I also drink lots of water with fresh lemons and limes. This is what I consume the most of. Because I am not 100% crazy about the taste of the juices yet, I only drink about 1 cup to a 1/2 a cup each meal and also a few times in between. I am not sure what others drink.
I'm finding that I'm not hungry.. Most of the battle was in the mind and getting used to not participating in eating. (I have a large family so I still have to cook for them and plan meals and all that fun stuff.. so this was hard to get my mind trained that I wasn't going to be eating.. it was NEVER that I was sooooo hungry or anything like that.) I can honestly honestly honestly say that I am NOT hungry and the more I go the more I am finding I am not interested in food anyway.
I started at 300 pounds
(yikes, I know). .. I began my fast by getting used to drinking water (because I was such a heavy pepsi drinker, this was killer for me).. But I found that if I would drink water in fresh lemons, it made it easier going down and it MAJORLY killed my cravings for sugar. I found I didn't even want pop before I began my fast,, which was a miracle for me. So after I got used to it, a week later I began my fast at 295 pounds. Now, this is day 5, and I'm down to 285 as of this morning. That's 10 pounds
gone on the fast, and 5 before. And I hardly did anything at all. Just stuck to the fast and it has not been hard at all, thus far anyhow. I plan to go through to the end of June so that I am able to enjoy the 4th of July Holiday being a little less frumpy. Right now I can tell that I am retaining a lot of the water I'm drinking, but I hear that goes away in time. I'm really excited to see how I do. The hardest days were the first 2 only because you are tempted to keep putting the fast off to eat "another" meal. But once you pass that point, you start to see the scale move and it's to exciting to "GO BACK" ..
Hope this little bit of info helps.. are you planning on starting fast?
