I'm new here, but I am 16 days into a fast myself. I can use the company too. Some days water, some days a little juice. (Storebought, I'm afraid--I have no juicer) I was grillmaster today for my family Easter Dinner. We hurried home from church and I fired it up. Not as tough as I thought it might be. My daughter graciously declined to make her best side dish (which well go unnamed here) in deference to my fast. My wife suggested I put some juice on the table to drink while she and the 2 kids that could attend ate. Good idea.
Anybody, and I mean anybody, who has experience with fasting and can be of help to me with info, encouragement, whatever--would be appreciated. I NEED to change my habits, and I believe a fast just might help me do it. I want to go mostly vegetarian for the next few months following this fast, treating meat and fish mostly as celebration foods. My previous longest fast was 10 days on water, prayer with fasting being the purpose for that one. I am feeling energetic and have an abiding sense of well being, almost euphoric at times. I am over "the tireds" at this point and intend to go on, unless my work load (sign manufacture) or my feeling poorly would dictate. I am down 32# so far and see it as a fine jumpstart to permanent lifestyle change. I didn't expect to feel SO GOOD! I am still able to work many hours a day, with only short breaks.
