serenity now
Hi #34953,
When did you plan to begin your fast? I've been fasting since last Wednesday (December 15th) for "emergency" reasons.
Had you planned to do it during the holidays? That might be a set up for failure. Christmas and New Years are all about FOOD! Also, I wonder if the big goal of 14 days is too much. What if you aimed for a seven day fast? Then at day four, you're half-way through. Day four would be "hump" day. And then when you reach the seventh day, you might decide to continue, but only if the fasting has become easier. That might be the psychological edge you need. Just a thought.
By the way, how soon did you "give in?" Day two, three, or four? And why? Hunger pains? I tried a
Water Fast last August, but gave in halfway through the second day. I wasn't as committed as I thought I was. The previous year I had completed a seven day fast.
I've heard some fasters remark that the hunger NEVER left totally during their fast. That is probably me, as well, regardless of how you define hunger. But it may also be due to the reason why I'm fasting.
Anyway, I hope you find a buddy who sticks with it. But even if THEY drop, you don't have to.
Dave
