The book that inspired me to go 145 days (or as long as my body needed) was by Dr. Paavo Airola. It can be found in the resource books listed on this forum. I followed his fasting advice, word for word. Besides this book, there's not much information, that I've seen on fasts this long. I'd love to see more information out there about long term fasting, too.
I didn't intend to go 145 days when I started that fast. I just wanted to give my body the time it needed to regain health. I knew what the signs were to watch out for, as far as my body letting me know we were done, and I made sure I was getting lots of nutrients. Natural medicine/healing is something I was raised believing in, so I think that background also helped a lot. I was also heading to college and knew I needed to be healthy to make it through. :)
I don't think I'll have to undergo another fast this long, but I'm letting my body do the leading....
If there's anything else you need to know, feel free to ask. I or someone else here will have valuable information on most fasting subjects. :)
PS As soon as I get some time, I'll post a message on my blog (drinking the living water) about the 145 dayer. I really wish I would have written more while I was on it.
