Don't apologize, this is why these forums were created! Stress does make
Acne much worse! So does things that you might not think about. Like the detergent the clothing and bedding is ashed in. Also the softner or dryer sheets. If you used a different detergent, softner, dryer sheet at school then at home that could be an adding factor. So does being around pets. There really is such a thing as humans having
parasites (I didn't beleive that at first but I found out that it's true). Do you have a pet at home? Have you ever pet an animal and then not think to wash before eating, touching yur eyes? That's enough to cause the
parasites to transfer to you. To cover all ground, try a multi approach.
1) Change detergents etc. to what you use at school. Sensativity to chemicals do cause breakouts!
2) Be very careful to wash your hands well before eating anything. It's a hard thing to get used to. Also wash after using the bathroom, if you don't.
3) Keep under your nails clean.
4) Wash you face only once a day!!! Over washing causes the oil glands to produce more oil, thus more acne. Since I started following that my skin is much nicer! :D
5) Start taking the suppliment l-cysteine (also labeled as NAC). Cysteine is an amino acid that the body needs that just happens to kill parasites!
As for how you feel, try to figure out why this is so disturbing (that's kind of hard!) for you. Then learn to deal with the initial emotion. (also hard, but worthwhile) For me, my low selfesteem is connected to my feeling that I don't count. I feel guilty about not being last, and being last makes me feel bad. So I've had to deal with why I feel guilty. The guilt comes from misunderstanding the teaching of "think of what they feel" from my mom. She want to teach compassion, I took it as I should think of my emotions. Now I'm learning how thinking of myself helps me to be loving and compassionate. It's been a hard journey, but it has been worthwhile! It helps to have someone to talk to. For me it's my husband, for others it's a couselor. It's hard to deal with the idea that you count. But you do count! Regardless of how you feel about your looks! That's also a hard one to get over. I'm still working on it. Whenever I think of a negative about myself, such as "My
Acne makes me looks awful!", I make myself think of a positive about myself (usually about the same place), such as "My high cheek bones show off my idian heretage!" Some days it has taken all day to come up with a positive, but now I am starting to see the positive first!!
I hope this gives you somethings to go on. Dealing with emotions can be overwhelming when you don't have a road map to follow. But by taking baby steps you can learn how to deal with what you feel and improve your selfesteem in the process!
