Anyone tried it? saw the starter culture for sale at wilderness naturals... good company, but it seems expensive... anyone tried this or know of a cheaper way to do it. by the way, i have been drinking the water from young coconuts lately, and its awesome stuff.

This is a reply to # 662,885Coconut kefir is very tasty.You can go to Google and punch in kefir and get Dom's site.There are people there that will give them to you,you just cover the shipping.Or go to Ebay people sell them also.What Wilderness sells is not an "grain"but a stater that is gone in a few weeks.Save your self the money and invest in real kefir grains and you will have them a life time.

This is a reply to # 662,887If you dont take care of them, they will die.They dont get "old", they grow bigger.When you see a picture you will know what I mean.With some TLC,they will grow,and you will have so many "grains" that you can give them to other people in no time.

This is a reply to # 662,886What is coconut kefir? Is it the same as normal (milk) kefir? Is it normal milk kefir put into coconut milk instead of cow's milk? Or is it a special kind of kefir? (I have normal cow's milk kefir.) Thanks.

This is a reply to # 662,890apparently you use the milk kefir grains in coconut water... and/or coconut milk. but the grains won't live forever like that, you need to put them back in milk after awhile. since i haven't done it yet, i'm still a bit foggy on the details... if there are any experts out there... i'd love to know.
