My advice (I am not a licensed medical practitioner) is to take it slow and work up, while monitoring your blood pressure. Although that looks like "a lot of salt", bear in mind that, since you're not eating your regular food, you are not getting all the foods that help contribute to your current situation, and you're especially not getting overloaded on the sodium, even with the salt. Also, keep in mind that you should be using purified Sea Salt
, not table salt
. Purified Sea Salt
has a nice balance of lots of minerals, which makes it distinctly different from chemically pure table salt
. It's unfair to compare the two directly.
But you probably don't want to just "go for it", and I wouldn't in your sitation, either. The key is to be gradual and to keep a watchful eye on your blood pressure.
On the other hand, you could skip the salt water altogether and go for the laxative tea twice a day instead if you find the salt water just isn't for you.
