Hi Steph!
I'll do a search and see if my old post to someone else on this topic comes up.
It is reeeally fascinating when you start to wake up at the same time every night...your body is trying to tell you something. And the Chinese have got it figured! Traditional Chinese Medicine is an ancient
Science and they say that the peak operating time for the LUNGS are between 3 and 5 am in the morning. That means that your wakefulness at 4am is the peak peak time!
Below is a link to the function of the lungs...please check it out - I am SURE it will have some significance for you.
The emotions that are linked with lung fuctions are sadness and grief. (does this ring any bells for you?) Or....do you smoke?
Breathing exercises would be VERY beneficial for you. If breathing exercises (in many spiritual practices they have many different breathing techniques) aren't your cup of tea....at the very least you should make a concerted effort to sleep with fresh air coming in your window...and taking walks daily, or standing by your window (oh, just remembered you have CFS....so if the walks are out - at least stand by your window...or sit up very straight to make space within your abdomen)...and take deep deep breaths into your lungs - fill your diaphram...breathe width-ways into your diaphragm (not into your head! oooh uncomfortable - get wider, not taller)...hold the breath for some seconds then release...
That will be soooo good for you.
I hope this helps some!
