After reading posts and acquiring as much knowledge as I can for the past few days (and after a three day apple diet) I finally started my first MC. I think it's really important to make sure you wean yourself away from your normal eating habits a couple days before you start the MC. Only eat fresh fruits and vegetables, and less and less of it as you gear up for the day of the start of the MC.
This is what I did. I ate fruit for two days and drank lots of water, on the third day I continued with my fruit (apples are great!) during the day and then ate a nice hearty salad for dinner. After dinner, I drank a HUGE cup of Ginger-Aid (a digetive-aid tea) but I figure any good Lax Tea will do just fine.
This morning, I drank the sea water flush concoction (only one glass to get my body used to it) and will be drinking the lemonade throughout the day. Tonight I will drink another big cup of that Lax Tea.
From what I've read and what I've done thus far, a few important things are good to keep in mind:
Start moderately. Don't go full-force into the diet because your body might go into "shock" which might be the reason your having such horrible bowel problems.
Make sure you flush your system early in the morning (right when you wake up) an hour and a half before you consume anything. And
a couple hours before you go to bed. Getting the right Lax tea to work with your body is important as well, so try a few sifferent ones.
If you have a yucky taste in your mouth, I've read you can use a tongue scraper or even a natural lozenge shouldn't be all that bad.
And also try eating some solids (don't drink as much of the lemonade) A few servings of fresh fruit during the day or a nice bowl of homemade vegetable stock in the afternoon might help your body adjust to the new diet. Then after a week or so, try doing just the lemonade.
Sorry For such a long message, I'm just really excited about this new discovery, just keep in mind that you have to find the right balance of the diet for your body, when you find the right balance, and you have eased your body into the diet, then it's smooth sailing !!
Pain, in this case, is NOT a good sign, and is not part of the diet. It's an indication that your are doing too much or too little. Listen to your body :)
