In my experience, certain body types (Pitta types) naturally have higher bilirubin levels than the other body types. They are also the most likely to have abnormal levels. As long as there are still stones blocking their bile ducts in the liver, they tend to have elevated levels. Although it isn't good, it is not dangerous, though. Eventually, once no more stones move forth from the rear end of the liver, bilirubin levels naturally return to normal.
