after much search i finally found Sea Salt , however it does not say if there is Iodine in it or not. i assumed the package would advertise it one way or another. if the Iodine is not part of the ingredients, is it safe to assume that it does not contain iodine?

  Not necessarily. They do put Iodide in Sea Salt .
  
  I use ALESSI 100% Natural Mediterranean Sea Salt (fine crystals).
  
  Check the ingredients listed. It should read Sea Salt " only. If there is magnesium carbonate or sodium iodide, you do not have 100% pure sea salt.
  
  However, I used the sea salt with Iodide for a while, and it seemed to work fine.

    Sea Salt DOES contain iodine, as well as a slew of other minerals. Sea Salt is NOT 'uniodized'. table salt goes through a process which REMOVES ALL MINERALS from the salt. Then they ADD iodine. The problem? Iodine is worthless without the other minerals originally present in Sea Salt . Funny, isn't it!?
