Before gall stone diagnosis, excruciating pains were treated for too much acid. As drugs for that got stronger pain got worse and more frequent, until daily. Chucked away drugs and took aloe vera and pain frequency reduced.
Was going to flush but read you shouldn't whilst having pain. Tried to figure out what foods triggered pain but no pattern. Could eat something one day with no ill effect and be in agony the next. However, if when pain first started I sipped a glass of 30% wine 70% water, pain didn't get worse and vanished after 20 mins. This made me wonder if it was true that pain was caused by a stuck gall stone in bile duct. Without the wine/water pain got worse and lasted 4 to 5 hours. Wine/water wouldn't stop pain once it had got bad.
Looked for other links and noted that I had the feeling pain would stop if I could throw up or have a good crap, but couldn't do either. BMs just didn't want to come out (strained so much I got bleeding hemmorhoids) When they did pass they were mostly very sticky, occasionally rabbit pellets or just yellowish mucous. Concluded pain was caused by not enough bile acid resulting in improperly digested food clogging everything up.
Went on self cure diet, based on lots of things I'd read. Started with two days on just apple juice with garlic, ginger, tumeric and nutmeg. Passed a few tiny stones and lots of chaff. Then started eating just fruit and salads and drinking plain apple juice. In the evening, I'd have one or two glasses of wine, then go on to wine/water. No pain, got some appetite back and felt a lot better, but still not really well.
2 weeks ago someone recommended a certain herbal tea, said to benefit liver, kidneys, reduce cholesterol etc. 1 week later I felt great, better than in years and have felt ravenous for first time in months. Started eating anything I fancied; bacon & eggs, chips, buttery croissants etc.
If anyone wants it I can supply a mail order addy for the tea - definitely a lot of thyme and rosemary from the smell and you can see juniper berries, but dont know what the rest is.
Only one problem now! I lost 2 1/2 stone in as many months. My figure is great, but how do I get rid of the sagging wrinkled skin on belly, inner thighs and upper arms?
