Hi John. No too sure what your sport is but I believe you will see result with the A*****ose either way.
With the athletes I've worked with, and their weights do vary considerably, over several months I do see results indicating slight increases in muscle mass and strength, fat loss due to the increased fitness and workout ability but best of all great increases in endurance. Depends what your traing for and how hard your training.
Now lets get to the nuts and bolts of it all.
~If you train HARD like a pro, you will push your body to the limits, causing some immune breakdowns along the way. Because hey, its all about recovering better right! especially for strength athletes but overall most athletes. No doubt you will have bad days due to exhaustion and lack of recovery, apon this scenerio you need to boost the bodys recovery systems and immune ability. This IS where A*****ose will come into play.( you might already know this anyway)
~The amount cannot be "prescribed" like creatine, (per pound) as realistically everyones immune systems ARE different and some assimulate faster than others. So experiment.
~Start with 1/4 teaspoon twice a day and work up from there. Get the feel of it in your system.
~Be prepared for an immune response as glyconutrients will enable cells to recognise "junk" or "toxins" in your body BETTER. Thus automatic DETOX. Again peoples reaction vary and DONT be put off. This is good for your body and in the long run your health and increased athletic ability.

Add Sport in too for added recovery.
