My 23 year old daughter has been Type 1 for 12 years. She too, has been in relatively good control, having been hospitalized only once since her initial diagnoses. Yet the past 3 months have been hell, starting with a 5 hour paralytic coma the end of June and several similar episodes of low-sugars in the months that followed. She's now taking Lantus and Humulog, eats low glycemic foods and has reestablished high balance. However, I've attended 2 M*******h seminars and am learning about glyconutrients and their affects on diabetes. I met a fifty something year old Type 2 who no longer has syptoms of diabetes, and next week will be going to meet a Type 1 (of 26 yrs) talk about how glyconutrients have caused her pancreas to produce insulin again. Though I am not a member of M*******h, I have been able to speak with Dr. Fouts who has recommended a formulary for my daughter. We're gonna try it. Remember that Type 1 is an immune system disorder, so allergies and diminishing bacteria and virus resistance are part of the problems your brother will face. Keep doing the research. I'm looking into M*******h AO, A*****ose, Plus, and Catalyst. Find seminars in your area so you can talk to the M*******h doctors, don't do it alone. Keep me posted!
