Hey SQ --
I "preach" if you will to baby boomers on their health -- and you're too young for this group. BUT ... I have a decent write-up on exercise here:
http://1healthyboomer.com/step1_rs.htm
Read it through ... then, if you've got a sporting goods store around, go price the two things I mention to buy. Or look for some good deals online. If you are faithful to JUST the two exercises I recommend for 3 months, you'll be in GREAT shape to "advance" to equipment that might turn you on.
One thing I've learned over the years (I'm on the wrong side of 50 now) is this: You can tell a LOT about your physical conditioning just by seeing how well you can handle your own body. For example: Sit quickly on the floor and cross your legs. Now get up fast. How did you do? Were you a bit unsteady going down or getting up?
Do several other things to test how you handle your own body. Then, after six weeks of faithful rebounding and using strengthening tubes, repeat those same tests. The results may amaze you - they absoolutely amazed me.
