Ladywear,
when I meant drugs I was talking about anti-depressants.
I don't believe there is any scientific basis for saying that antifungal drugs work any better than natural anti-fungals. To say so is a sweeping generalisation (not based on scientific evidence) and probably false. Who do you trust - God or Glaxo Smithkline Beecham?
It is actually a moot point though as I personally do not believe in the anti-fungal (natural or synthetic) approach to curing candida. There is a lot of evidence to suggest that unless you have a mild case of candida, this approach is not likely to work.
I believe in the natural, safe, support-the-liver-don't-stress-it, cleanse-and-detoxify-approach outlined on this site.
Most of the orthodox medical community doesn't even believe in candida. They say it can not affect healthy people. In a way I believe they are right - i.e. that we each have underlying causes which need to be addressed - e.g. malfunctioning liver. But orthodox medicine has no concept of a malfunctioning liver which can be cured by liver flushes.
Fighting the symptoms of disease without addressing the underlying cause is one of the most stressful things you can do to your body.
I don't presume to tell you how to fight your candida - it is your decision. I can only tell you what I think.
