Dear Andreas, I use castor oil in my eyes at night as you suggested. I was wondering what the shelf life of bottle of castor oil would be for this purpose. I keep it in my refridgerator. The castor oil has a cool soothing affect but it also causes the grittiness of ocular rosacea to appear. Is this part of a detoxifying affect? Or does it have to do with the fact that the oil is cold - coming directly from the fridge?

This is a reply to # 489,202I am doing the same thing, I get red scale-like, flakey skin around my eyes. I also sun quite a bit. I am hoping Andreas will say this is part of the toxic waste being broken down. This is one of the few places on my skin that still has this problem (I used to have it everywhere).

Thank you for the response Johng. Do you have ocular rosacea or are you using the castor oil for a different reason? And did you use the castor oil in another way for your previous skin problems?Which I am thrilled for you are previous! I currently have facial rosacea too - can't even put water on my face. I can't wait for the day that is no longer the case - I know it will come.

Castor oil doesn't become rancid easily, Keeping it in the fridge, is a good idea, though. It doesn't have irritating properties in relation to blood vessels, so I assume these are cleansing effects. It is a matter of trial and error. What works for one person may not work for another. Trying it out is the best way to find out.
