Bonnie,
Yes, this can be very confusing. Many times, the mind comes in and creates it's own answers. And at other times, your heart tells you to do the "wrong" thing so that you can free yourself of the fear that is behind the question. When you ask youself, "is this food good or bad for me", your fear of making mistakes comes in. To loose the fear, you may need to experience what you are afraid of. The food issue is just as much an emotional issue as it is a physical one. Figuring out one's diet is part of the journey, but then you will eventually need to let go of the "figuring out." Life is made up of opposites. When you resist something, anything, you will pull it towards you. When you are afraid that some food causes you a flareup of rosacea, you need to experience that so that you feel the fear of foods that you have had for lifetimes. All this is valuable. And making "mistakes" with food is, too. So don't be afraid of doing the wrong thing. They are only wrong in your head. Your heart (without the head influencing it) often gives your a different sensation. Learn with your body and through your body, it can teach you a lot about life.
If you feel drawn towards milk thistle or flax oil, follow your gut. If not, it may not be necessary.
