Josey,
what you are describing sounds like a normal case of candida. Firstly some questions:
How long have you been taking antifungals?
How much carbs do you eat each day?
>also suffer from chronic constipation!
BINGO! This along with candida is giving you all your grief. The body will eliminate toxins as best it can in order to keep itself alive. If you are not going regular, all your body can do is emmit gas and foul smelling odour.
Are you eating enough fibre - usually in the form of vegetables. Also have you tried taking psyllium? The most important thing to keep regular however is water, and lots of it.
Rule number 1 of candida is to keep regular. Unlike normal people if we aren't regular we can become *extremely* toxic within a matter of hours/days.
> I seem to have a leaky gut syndrome going on as I even smell of feces at times even when I am not emitting gas, and I have terrible breath and body odour at times. I feel completely disgusting.
All of this is normal. I and others with candida are going through exactly the same thing. Basically your body is toxic. You need to start detoxifying.
Here is my approach to candida:
There are 2 main approaches to candida - 1. the top-down approach and 2. the bottom-up approach.
1. Attack it by taking anti-fungals whilst keeping a strict diet.
2. Support the immune system, Detoxify and fight the underlying causes.
1. requires strict adherence to the diet otherwise you will just kill the weaker guys whilst feeding the stronger ones. It can also be very draining on the body. 2. also requires adherence to the diet, but the diet is more preventative (stop you getting worse) rather than curative (try to kill candida).
I've tried 1. for about a year. It did nothing for me excpet make me weak and miserable. I am now trying approach 2.
The Detox in approach 2 has two aspects:
a. Remove toxicity from cells
b. Remove toxicity from the body
This is achieved by:
1. Fresh Juices
2. Water Cure
3. Enemas/Colonics/Colemas
4. Hot baths/ sweating
5. Liver flushing + liver support
I quote:
"Healing is about taking the stress off the system and encouraging a return to natural conditions within each cell. It is only when the cell is cleansed and re-hydrated that the healing can occur. This is working from the bottom-up - changing the environment through non-manipulative and non-invasive methods that raise the natural vitality of each and every cell independent of the original complaint. When you work from the top-down you are in danger of increasing the stress on the body - even with natural therapies. For unless the body is cleansed, additional input into a toxic environment creates chaos and stress."
These 2 approaches to healing mirror the dichotomy inherent in the universe - the yin and the yang, the masculine and feminine. Top-down is very masculine - you are taking on the candida in a duel - who is stronger you or it? Conversely Bottom-up healing is the feminine approach. Support and nurture. Diffuse without confronting.
