My family lives in the mountains of Oregon and drink spring water. The people we bought our cabin from were always sick and suspected the spring... we thought they were nuts becuase it tested fine. Now, after 7 years of residency, we are suspicious of the spring ourselves! We are saving for a proper well, but until then I want to increase our filtration. We currently use an under the sink model that uses a string cartridge form the local store (.05 micron, says it removes giardia).

Our issues are.... 1) medium pressure (gravity fed spring) 2) rationed water usage in summer (don't want to waste a drop!) 3) careful with electricity (we use solar panels)

Does anyone have experience with water filtration or know of any sytem that i should look in to? We are parasite cleansing now while travelling, and want to start cleaning up our environment the minute we get back home.
