I too have had excruciating pain in the lower extremities and was to the point of being in a wheel chair with MS. With much prayer and seeking, the Lord led me to changing my diet extensively and adding supplements of all kinds. He also directed me to keep a food and pain diary. I kept it consistently for months, charting my diet, pain, and stress levels to see if "triggers" also were causing problems with my health. For severe pain, the following herbs and supplements seem to work the best.
GLA Gamma Linolethic Acid 2 or more
CLA Conjegated Linolethic Acid 1 or 2
MSM 2 or more per day as needed
White Willow (natural herbal aspirin) when needed
Fish Oil 2 per day
Vitamin E 2 per day
Vitamin C 2000 mg per day
Ginseng 1 or 2 per day
Feverfew (for headaches or migraine pain)
Herb Lax (a Shaklee product for elimination)
Garlic 2 per day, sometimes more
A Good Herbal Colon Cleanser (Aim Fiberblend)
Greens (Spirulina Herb Diet)
Valerian (for muscle relaxation to be taken at bedtime or when a severe pain attack may occur)
In my diet I also eliminated the following:
White flour products (especially those with bleach)
Margarine, pork (loaded with toxicity), all oils except olive, all artificial sweeteners, all boxed dead foods, heavy starches (potatoes, yams, cauliflower, rice, etc)
Instead I eat GREEN foods, live foods, healthy grains, real butter, goat's milk, soy products, fruits, veggies, Organic chicken and turkey, and other healthy products offered in the produce and freezer sections or offered through the local cooperative.
My newest additions have been HGH and a Chi Swing Machine. The HGH helps with rebuilding of the cells (and other problems. The Chi Swing Machine is a passive aerobic exerciser that stimulates the spine and brings back circulation to the legs. It's great! The one we bought is an Evergain model (bought on Ebay).
Prayer, a positive attitude, and family cooperation are also important. MS is hard on the emotions and family love and support are so vital. As a sufferer, I cannot stress this enough!
Hope this helps you in some way. Feel free to contact me if you need to.
