I've been getting those squiggly "floaters" for years. Some look like a round circle and some are long and wormy looking. The tend to drift over my line of sight but I can tell they're coming from inside my eye rather than out. I asked my MD about them a few years back and he said that they were red blood cells and somehow they are reflected into the line of sight. I can't at all remember the exact mechanism he said but I do believe that the floaters you see are more likely red blood cells than parasites which found there way into your eyeball.
