I am only on day two of my latest Bowel Cleanse
and I'm already freezing; it happens to me all the time. (although Liver Flushes
leave me feeling hot, may need to throw one of those in soon :)
Remember that psyllium seed is mostly insoluble fiber, meaning that it is going to go straight through you without being absorbed into the blood stream. This is what causes the scrubbing action that cleanses the walls of the intestines. All this insoluble fiber is going to be pooped on out, and much of the bulk of the fecal material is psyllium. However, remember that this material also contains mucus, particles of food, normal bowel waste and toxins absorbed by the fluid part of the waste. What you are getting out is important and should not be dismissed.
Think of the psyllium work on you colon like the way sand paper works on a thick coat of paint. It wears it down gradually. When it wears down enough then the plaque will begin to slough off in bigger pieces. Sometimes it will be ropes of material, other times just strands and chunks combined with the psyllium, but its all good.
I had done psyllium based Bowel Cleanses
off and on for nearly two years before I passed the fables "ropes" of mucoid plaque. I was doing a parasite
cleanse with herbs and digestive enzymes. One day I passed three feet of mucoid plaque studded with worms. This material was definitely not psyllium, it was hard, rubbery, hollow, and of a completely different texture. The next day, I passed four feet of material, the first 18-24 inches
was like the previous days, while the remainder was obviously psyllium based fecal material. All this happened just over a year ago. Right now I am doing a cleanse because I feel like I need one, however I do not expect to have the same results I had last year. Still I plan on doing a good Colon Cleanse
once or twice a year for the rest of my life.
Here's a couple of hints I have learned along the way-I like to do the first four or five days of cleansing with only psyllium to get things moving. After that I'll add one or two doses of Bentonite
every day. Digestive enzymes are very helpful in bowel cleansing to help soften mucus. Another helpful aid is a cleansing drink made with one tablespoon raw apple cider vinegar, 10-20 drops of cayenne tincture, and a little sweetener to help get it down. Take this every night before bedtime. It really makes a difference. The vinegar and cayenne both help cut mucus.
